Athena is a personal AI assistant operated by Mark Higgins, with technical components running on a private server owned and operated by Mark Higgins. It is single-user (Mark himself) and is not offered as a service to any other party.
With explicit OAuth authorization, Athena accesses the following Google data on accounts the user owns:
athena@bgsage.ai) via SMTP.All Google data is accessed in real time to answer the user's queries or perform tasks the user has explicitly requested. No Google data is sold, shared with third parties for marketing, used to train any model, or retained beyond what is necessary for the assistant to function.
Athena runs on a private AWS EC2 instance controlled by the user. OAuth refresh tokens are stored locally on that server with file permissions restricted to the operating system user. Conversation history is stored locally in a SQLite database for session continuity and is not transmitted off-device except as needed to call language model APIs (see Sub-processors).
Athena calls the following third-party APIs to produce responses. Message content the user sends to Athena (which may include excerpts of Google data she has fetched on the user's behalf) is transmitted to these providers:
OAuth refresh tokens are retained until the user revokes them via Google Account settings (or until they expire under Google's policies). Conversation logs and the assistant's persistent memory files are retained on the local server indefinitely or until the user manually prunes them.
The user can revoke Athena's access to any Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Doing so immediately invalidates the corresponding OAuth refresh token.
Athena is not intended for or directed at children under 13.
